3rd Annual Pearl Street Block Party
A re-imagination of how an underutilized alley can be transformed into a creative space filled with life and art connecting diverse communities in our neighborhood and beyond! Join us for an array of live performance and music, food and interactive artwork and displays created by Asian Arts Initiative's artists-in-residence and additional local artists and community groups. A Community Meal will follow our event programming, offering a mix of cuisines representing the diverse cultures of our neighborhood. To attend our potluck-style Community Meal or learn more about the 3rd Annual Pearl Street Block Party, please contact Programs Associate, Pamela Ong, at pamela@asianartsinitiative.org.
Asian Arts Initiative thanks our co-presenters DesignPhiladelphia, Callowhill Neighborhood Association, and Friends of the Rail Park for helping to make this event possible. Major support for Pearl Street Project has been provided by ArtPlace America and PNC Arts Alive.
DesignPhiladelphia’s Pearl Street Passage, which is the temporary installation informed by the permanent, long term efforts of the Pearl Street Project, coordinated by Asian Arts Initiative in partnership with an array of neighborhood stakeholders, aims to imagine transform the Pearl Street alleyway into an outdoor gallery and public gathering space. Asian Arts Initiative's vision is to connect the four blocks from 10th to Broad Street – and bring together a diversity of people from within and beyond our neighborhood of Chinatown North and Callowhill. Asian Arts Initiative is currently working with Groundswell Design Group to implement a schematic design for Pearl Street.
