Shifting Attitudes in Health + Wellness: Designed by You, For You!
The Independence Blue Cross Center for Health Care Innovation, MEDStudio@JEFF at Thomas Jefferson University and Likuma Laboratories LLC are partnering to offer an afternoon of design thinking to produce innovative shifts in how we approach existing, or currently unchallenged problems, in health care. The session will begin with a 45 minute panel discussion about the future of health innovation by experts from the fields of design, health care and science. This will be followed by a charette, in which small groups formed from the audience ideate around 1 of 3 topics related to the general theme of #SHIFT in health and wellness.
The topics are as follows:
#1: New Ageing: How can we shift the process and perception of ageing to generate a system that is more dignified and healthy?
#2: Architecture that promotes health + wellness: How do we design and engage with the built and natural environment, in active and passive ways, to promote health and wellness?
#3: Humanizing technology: As we become increasingly emerged in digital health care, how can we maintain and even improve upon the doctor’s “touch†in order to keep medicine personalized? How might technology be used by the patient, for the patient, yet hand-in-hand with the physician?
Panel participants include:
Thane A. Blinman, M.D: Attending surgeon at CHOP + Asst Prof of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine
George C Brainard, Ph.D: Professor of Neuroscience + Director of Light Research Program at Thomas Jefferson University
