Documenting the final months of a Jewish painter stricken with ALS, IMBER’S LEFT HAND follows Imber as he refuses to give up what he loves regardless of his physical limitations. When he loses use of his right hand, he begins to paint with his left. As the left starts to go, he uses both hands held at his waist as the degenerative condition progresses. Surrounded by loved ones and refusing to give up, he paints over 100 illustrative portraits of friends and family over several months, all the while keeping his wits and wicked sense of humor about him. Don’t miss this deeply moving and inspirational documentary that took home the Audience Award at the Boston Jewish Film Festival this past season.
