(30 August 2018 – Philadelphia, PA) Minima, a retail leader of luxurious contemporary design based in Philadelphia, will host Touched X Design, a multi-sensory experience and opening celebration for Sensory Design. The launch is part of Philadelphia Design District’s seven-day DesignPhiladelphia 2018 program, and is scheduled for Saturday, October 6th, 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Touched by Design will be held in Minima’s two Old City locations, and will feature work from local ceramicist Teresa Chang, as well as Bomma’s hand-blown glass lighting collection, and new furniture from Italian design house, Minotti.
Teresa Chang’s limited edition, hand-built porcelain pieces are influenced by the simplicity of Korean and Japanese pottery. Her textured tabletop collection in bone white and graphite gray are being designed specifically to complement Minima’s elegant and sensuous furniture displays. In Minima’s 118 North 3rd Street showroom, Chang will throw pots on her ceramic wheel, appealing to both our visual and tactile senses. All work will be available for sale.
Minotti’s exquisite 2018 Collection, A Tale of an Infinite Present, will be exhibited in Minima’s 131 N. 3rd St showroom. Minotti’s chief designer, Rodolfo Dordoni, coordinated this internal collection, an expression of classic but contemporary taste. Timeless designs, including generous and versatile sofa configurations paired with elegant armchairs and coffee tables,
create innovative and sculptural seating arrangements. Guests are encouraged to experience Minotti’s sensuous textiles, exotic marbles, fine woods, and international styling sold exclusively in this region by Minima.
